Hat Making Course

Step into the world of hat-making with a fully immersive two-day experience in downtown Galt located in Cambridge, ON. In this hands-on class, you’ll design and craft your very own custom hat from scratch. Choosing your felt colour and shaping every detail to your personal style, you will determine what your masterpiece will look like! Learn how to block your hat, torch it and add unique embellishments all while enjoying a fun, creative, and welcoming atmosphere! Learn about the artistry of hat making and walk away with your own custom creation.

On Day 1, we’ll start the day early at 10am learning about the foundational processes and learn about the felts. You will then learn how to block your hat and the tooling needed for this step. Once hats are blocked we will start the design process by picking out the trim for your masterpiece. Choose from a variety of trims, ribbons, and embellishments to make your hat truly unique.

Day 2  we'll have another early 10am start. We will pounce our hats, then sew in our own sweat bands. From there we will shape out hats and add our trim. You are also more than welcome to bring your own pieces to add to your hat to make it extra special.
